GRE Subject Tests

SSU only offers the Subject Test, paper version exams. The GRE General Test is not offered at SSU. The GRE is a commercially-run standardized test that is an admission requirement for many graduate schools in the United States. The GRE Subject Tests are administered 3 times a year on a Saturday. In the Fall, they are usualy in September and October. In the Spring, it is in April. The GRE Subject Tests is created and administered by Educational Testing Service (or ETS). An Examinee must register with ETS beforehand and Special Accommodations are available.

The GRE Subject Tests are achievement exams that measure the knowledge of a particular field of study. The GRE Subject Tests can help prospetive Graduate Students stand-out from other applicants by emphasizing particular knowledge and skill level in a specific area of study. Each Subject Test is intended for students who have an undergraduate major or extensive background in one of these following 6 disciplines offered.

  1. Biology
  2. Chemistry
  3. Literature in English
  4. Mathematics
  5. Physics
  6. Psychology

Day of Exam
Examinees will require the following.
-A printed Registration Ticket
-No cell phones
-Valid and current picture identification

-Examinees report to the Darwin Hall Lobby area.

-A $5/day Parking Permit is required during weekends.
